Jefferson caught his only target for a seven-yard touchdown during Monday’s 27-24 win over Tampa Bay. He only played four offensive snaps.
The rookie has played sparingly to this point of the season and has just six receptions for 67 yards and the lone score over the past five games. However, he’s only been targeted six times during the noted span, so Jefferson’s efficiency is notable. Additionally, he’s reinforced all the positive skills that have been attributed to him since being selected in Round 2 of the 2020 NFL Draft. While Jefferson’s depth role has him off the fantasy radar in most seasonal settings for now, he’s showing all the signs of developing into a quality receiver for years to come.
Alabama wide receiver DeVonta Smith set an SEC record on Saturday when he hauled in his 32nd career touchdown reception in the No. 1 Crimson Tide’s game against Kentucky. Smith’s 10-yard touchdown catch from quarterback Mac Jones put Alabama ahead 14-3 in the second quarter, and pushed him past former Florida receiver Chris Doering and former Alabama star Amari Cooper in the league’s record books.
The senior from Amite, Louisiana, entered Saturday’s game as Alabama’s leading receiver on the season with 56 receptions for 759 and eight touchdowns after choosing to spurn the NFL Draft and return for his senior season.
Smith’s ascension to the top of the league record books is especially impressive considering that he entered his junior season last year with just nine career touchdown catches. But Smith exploded onto the scene for the Crimson Tide last year with 14 touchdown receptions to establish himself as one of the top receivers in the country entering the 2020 season. Alabama has become especially reliant on Smith this season since fellow star receiver Jaylen Waddle was likely lost for the season with injury against Tennessee on Oct. 24.
Though Smith would almost certainly have been selected in the 2020 NFL Draft, he explained in January why he wanted to return for another season.
“While I’ve achieved a lot on the field,” Smith wrote, “I understand that football isn’t forever. I have to prepare myself for life after the game and the first step to doing that is getting my degree.”
PHILADELPHIA — It did not take long for Jalen Reagor to get on the board in his return from injury.
The Eagles rookie wide receiver scored his first career touchdown with two seconds left in the first quarter of Sunday night’s game against the Cowboys.
Quarterback Carson Wentz hit Reagor in the right flat from two yards out, and Reagor broke the plane while taking a hit from Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Reagor, who grew up in the Dallas area and was coached in high school by former Cowboys quarterback Jon Kitna, missed the past five games with a thumb injury that he suffered in Week 2. He returned quicker than expected — reports indicated he would return after the bye week for the Giants game in two weeks — and made an early impact after getting the start.
The Eagles drafted Reagor with the No. 21 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft to provide their offense with some explosiveness and a unique skill set. The Eagles got him involved on the touchdown drive with three touches for 16 yards. His first touch came where he motioned into the backfield and then Wentz hit him behind the line of scrimmage for a 6-yard rush.
He later caught an 8-yard pass.
Reagor suffered a shoulder injury in training camp, and he was expected to miss the beginning of the season, but he returned for the opener. He flashed his talent with a 55-yard catch against Washington in the opener. The next week, he had four catches for 41 yards in the loss to the Rams.
The Eagles led the Cowboys, 7-3, at the end of the first quarter.

NASA’s asteroid-chaserOsiris-Rex completed a brief and historic landing Tuesday on the potentially hazardous asteroid Bennu, over 200 million miles away from Earth. On Wednesday, the space agency shared the first batch of images from the daring operation, revealing a delicate-yet-explosive moment between rock and robot.
Osiris-Rex traveled all that way to perform a short touch-and-go maneuver. Its major goal is to collect a sample from the asteroid’s surface and transport it back to Earth for study.
On Tuesday, NASA TV reported the spacecraft’s robotic sampling arm, named Touch-And-Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism, or Tagsam, did touch down on Bennu. During the brief contact, it performed what amounts to a cosmic pickpocketing maneuver. Mission planners expected that the total time of contact between the arm and asteroid would be less than 16 seconds. When preliminary data was released on Wednesday, it showed that the period of contact was just six seconds, with much of the sample collection happening in only the first three.
The spacecraft, which operates largely autonomously due to the 18-minute communications delay with mission control on Earth, fired a canister of gas through Tagsam that disrupted the surface of Bennu and should have enabled a sample to make its way up into the arm’s collector head.
Osiris-Rex was designed to touch down on a flat, even surface, but Bennu is so rocky the team found no suitable space. Fortunately, Osiris-Rex outperformed its design and was able to perform its sampling on a site dubbed Nightingale, which is only about as big as a few parking spaces.

Around 24 hours after the operation, NASA shared the first images of the touchdown operation captured by the spacecraft. The Tagsam moves into position and its sampling head makes contact with Bennu’s surface before the explosive burst of nitrogen is fired. The operation kicks up a ton of debris that flies around the acquisition arm. It’s really something!

Although the above GIF appears relatively fast, the operation proceeded much more delicately. The arm was lowered at around 10 centimeters per second, much slower than walking pace, when it contacted the sample site.
The team’s goal is to collect about 60 grams of dust, dirt and pebbles from the surface of Bennu. To determine if that goal has been met, Osiris-Rex has maneuvered to a safe distance and will now move its arm into position to take photos of the collector head and weigh how much mass lies within.

NASA shared footage of the recently completed Touch-And-Go (TAG) sample collection event on asteroid Bennu. The short clips show some of the critical moments from the historic mission.
After years of planning, NASA succeeded this week in performing its first-ever mission to collect samples directly from an asteroid. Using the Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security, Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) spacecraft, the agency successfully “booped” the asteroid for a brief moment to collect samples and safely backed away again.
The agency shared footage of the historic mission captured by the SamCam instrument, which is one of the three cameras in the OSIRIS-REx Camera Suite. In an eight-second video shared by NASA, the Touch-And-Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism (TAGSAM) instrument, the only part of the spacecraft to touch the surface, can be seen approaching and positioning itself to make contact with the Nightingale sample collection site.
“Upon initial contact, the TAGSAM head appears to crush some of the porous rocks underneath it,” NASA said on its website. “One second later, the spacecraft fires a nitrogen gas bottle, which mobilizes a substantial amount of the sample site’s material.”
Although the footage looks rather like a video of the collection event, it is actually a series of 82 images captured within a five-minute period.
According to NASA, the touchdown was confirmed at exactly 6.08 p.m. EDT, with the data showing that TAGSAM only made contact with the surface of asteroid Bennu for just six seconds. After the brief contact, the spacecraft fired its thrusters to move away from the asteroid again.
Another video shared by the agency is also a collection of images captured by SamCam, this time of 16 images showing the “aftermath” of the sample collection. Unlike the other video, which looks like a clean shot of the mission, the 20-second aftermath video looks rather like a slide show of the disturbance that the mission caused on the surface of the asteroid.
Starting with a clean shot of the TAGSAM touching the surface, the video goes on to show several other images of the debris and asteroid material floating around the instrument as it backs away from the asteroid.
The team behind the mission is analyzing how much samples the spacecraft actually collected during Tuesday’s mission. If it’s enough, OSIRIS-REx will prepare to leave Bennu and return to Earth. If not, the team will have to make another TAG attempt in January 2021.
Determining how much the spacecraft really collected will take about a week, NASA said in a news release.
“Even though we have some work ahead of us to determine the outcome of the event – the successful contact, the TAGSAM gas firing, and back-away from Bennu are major accomplishments for the team,” OSIRIS-REx principal investigator at
Smythe secured one of two targets for a four-yard touchdown during Sunday’s 24-0 win over the Jets.
Smythe and fellow backup tight end Adam Shaheen (3-51-1) both got involved enough on offense to score Sunday, while Mike Gesicki was held without a catch on two targets. It’s encouraging to see Smythe log a productive day after having missed Week 5 due to a knee injury, but he usually takes too large a percentage of his snaps as a blocker to warrant real fantasy consideration.
Kmet caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ 23-16 victory over the Panthers on Sunday.
Kmet got open between three defenders while catching a perfect pass from Nick Foles to score his first NFL touchdown, but the two targets he received equaled the total number of looks he had seen over the first four games. Until he sees a consistent increase in targets, his fantasy value will remain minimal.

Bears second-round draft pick Cole Kmet finally found the end zone, scoring his first career touchdown in the first quarter of the Bears’ Week 6 matchup against the Panthers.
Up to this point Kmet had been held to one reception as he learns the ropes from Jimmy Graham. The touchdown came at a crucial moment, too. Following an interception that gave the Bears in the red zone already, the Bears found themselves with a third-and-goal, outside the 10-yard line. But Kmet beat his man to the center of the endzone by a step and Foles found him to take a quick 7-0 lead.
Unsurprisingly Bears twitter was pretty excited.
