Oak Ridge sweeps College Park; Magnolia earns big win

Oak Ridge swept College Park 25-22, 25-12, 25-19 at home Friday night in District 13-6A play.

The War Eagles (12-2, 3-1) got a pair of double-doubles in the win. Avery Fowler had 15 assists and 11 digs, and Piper Boydstun had 12 digs and assists. Madison Hall led offensively with 14 kills while Tori Perduk added eight. Julia Neveu had 15 digs and Alex Singleton had 13 digs.

The Cavaliers (4-9, 1-2) were led by Paige Palmer, who had 18 digs and nine kills. Alexis McDaniel also had 18 kills. Koralyn Owens paced the offense with 15 assists and Paige Bernstein added 10. Mallory Madison had 13 digs and five kills.

College Park takes on Willis on Saturday. Oak Ridge is back in action Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at Grand Oaks.


Magnolia tops College Station

Magnolia beat College Station 25-18, 23-25, 25-19, 25-23 on Friday to kick off the second half of District 19-5A play.

The Bulldogs (9-6, 6-2) got a standout performance from Faith Lynch, who had 40 assists, 13 digs and three aces. Brynn Botkin had 22 kills and six digs. Ellie Anderson and Marissa Moffatt both had seven kills. Moffatt added 10 digs. Kaylyn Fojt and Sydney Gentry both had 13 digs.

Magnolia hosts Bryan Rudder on Tuesday at 6 p.m.

The Woodlands handles Conroe

The Woodlands swept Conroe 25-15, 25-15, 25-20 at home Friday night in District 13-6A play.

The Lady Highlanders (12-3, 3-0) were led by Claire Arend’s double-double of 13 kills and 11 digs.

Jackie Lee had 16 digs and Natalie Kimmel added 15. Clara Brower had 28 assists and six digs.

The Lady Tigers (5-9, 0-4) got six kills from Mikayla Anderson and five from Brooklyn Spikes. Saege Anzueto led defensively with 24 digs. Kenedi Reynolds had 10 assists and Brooke Ashton added nine.

The Woodlands is at Willis on Saturday morning. Conroe is back in action Tuesday at home at 5:30 p.m. against the Ladykats.

Splendora wraps district with win

Splendora closed out District 21-4A play Friday with a 25-21, 25-15, 25-20 win at Livingston.

The Ladycats (23-5, 10-2) will head to the postseason with the No. 2 seed. The playoffs begin late next week. Splendora’s bi-district opponent was not known Friday night.

On Friday, Jalynn Knight had nine kills, while Mykala Moore and Bethany Owens chipped in seven apiece. Abigail Moran had 20 assists and Star Toczek had 13. Tori Moore led defensively with 22 digs and Sydney Muck had 12.

Grand Oaks sweeps Willis

Grand Oaks topped Willis 25-14, 25-13, 25-16 on the road Friday in District 13-6A play.

The Ladykats (1-8, 0-2) got 11 kills from Bella Cantara. Savannah Paske had 16 assists while Piper Neumann added 10. Caroline Woodfill had 13 digs.

No statistics were available from Grand Oaks (12-3, 3-1)

The Grizzlies host Oak Ridge at 5:30 p.m. The Ladykats make up a pair of games against The Woodlands and College Park on Saturday.
