California Universities Must Have Foreign Students – They Pay More Offset Costs

After President Trump signed an executive order temporarily stopping new immigrants to the US from five countries; Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Yemen and Libya – the Democrats went crazy; Hollywood, Academia, Large Corporations all came out with statements and the activism initiated including complaints of their disdain at Hollywood awards events, protests (turned to riots) at Universities, and full page corporate ads in the WSJ (Wall Street Journal), even Starbucks promised to hire 10,000 immigrants from Somalia. Silicon Valley got spooked with immediate moves to lobby Washington DC on behalf of foreign worker VISA policies and high-profile CEOs made statements on financial and mainstream cable TV stations.

We can write-off the angst of Hollywood, they hate Trump and have made that all too clear, Madonna even noted that she'd thought about blowing up the WH in Washington DC. When Meryl Streep was honored for 'lifetime of notable work' at the Golden Globes she chose to use the microphone and her acceptance speech to trash Donald Trump – so, no surprises there.

Nor, should we be surprised at Corporate Leaders running multi-national conglomerates or Silicon Valley that relationships on H-1 Visas to keep cost controls down by hiring 2-3 people for the cost of a US Citizen with the same credentials which are in short supply therefore, subject to supply and demand costs for their labor.

Now then, what's with academia going out of their way to trash the Trump Administration? First, academia has historically been a bastion for communist, socialist and leftist thought, but it's more than that, it's a badge of honor, and required, if you're not a leftist, you just have to shut up if you want to attend or work there as faculty or staff – that's the truth, and everyone knows it.

In Washington State foreign students (international students) paid 3-times the normal tuition costs (2012 report). Essentially for every foreign student, you can send two in-state students to college for free, this obviously offsets costs. Even back in 2011 foreign students were said to have contributed $ 21 Billion to the US economy (in an academic research study funded by the taxpayers) in defense of academia's methods of operations.

It is no wonder there is a trend in our Universities to call for "inclusion" and support more student VISAs from all countries and most universities in the US today actually have a salute to their "international" focus in their Mission Statements and Statement of Values. One could rightfully question this and ask: is not this really about revenue to the institution? I mean if foreign students cost them the same or more, rather than paying extra, I doubt they've put so much emphasis on this issue.

Today, at California Universities foreign students pay nearly 3-times the tuition costs as well. Would I be going out of my way to state the following?

"California Universities are using Foreign Students to pay their exorbitant salaries, benefits and pensions, as well as legal costs of professors and staff – all the while claiming to be" inclusive "and one with" diversity "for all, and purely point to their foreign enrollment as proof that they care and live by their values - but it is all bullshet. "

Now then, was that too over-the-top, or is there truth to it? If you are a Democrat, you're say I am wrong. If you are a realist you say; sure, that's exactly what's happening – which world do you live in; the La La Land of Academia or the real world? Think on this, and once again, sorry for shaking your echo chamber with a loud solid base of reality.
