2. Attempt tutorials and try to attend as many as possible.

3. The repetition of information and the practice will help your memory and your ability to get closer to that A. Practice your tutorials and past papers before an exam.

4. Exam questions are often similar and are sometimes even recycled. Importantly, you should try to practice answering questions without looking at the notes after you have studied a topic.

5. Review the material as soon as you can and review often. Place an emphasis on understanding and thinking about the material rather than mere recitation

6. Try to pinpoint areas which are stressed during lectures. These are areas which your lecturer views as important and you will more than likely be tested on these areas.

7. Keep handouts organized in a folder so it will waste less time trying to find class material Take a front seat as you will be more focused, less likely to fall sleep and less likely to find people who talk a lot at these positions.

9. Visualize the material and write down what you need to remember This aids memory as more senses are involved

10. Keep a positive attitude. Visualize getting an excellent grade on your paper. You can make a poster with inspirational quotes, read inspirational stories or you can even listen to positive songs to lift your mood when you feel low. Do whatever you have to do to believe that you will do well on your exam

11. Read information about study skills. Try buying one or borrowing a book from your library or friends.

12. Concentrate during class.Doodling and talking with friends will cause you to lose valuable information and explanations.

13. Time is then wasted by trying to figure concepts which were missed, by reading textbook repeatedly.

Computer Aided Drafting Schools – Career Preparation Options

Preparing for a career in computer aided drafting is centered on the ability to understand how to use the industry's technology. Computers and their software are allowing professionals to take the concepts of designers and create detailed blueprints that represent the final product. Training is essential when pursuing a career and voluntary colleges offer students several educational programs that prepare them for the field. Career preparation options are available through computer aided drafting schools.

Training inside volunteer college results in completing a certificate or associate's degree program. Students learn to become professionals that experiment with new ideas without spending money on replicas of products and buildings. Training is focused on developing the ability to draw models that allow them to detect any flaws in design, which lets them make improvements. The goal in using computer aided drafting software is to speed up the time it takes to generate blueprints of projects and make the building process more efficient. Obtaining an education is critical to developing the correct skills to succeed professionally. Students can begin training by choosing colleges to enroll in that offer the programs that will prepare them for their careers.

Entering voluntary colleges give students the opportunity to complete programs at the certificate and associate's degree level. Training varies significantly between colleges so students need to research their options before committing to programs. Entry-level positions are available to students that complete certificate programs. Intensive technical courses are completed when students work through associates degree programs. Training at these levels will last approximately six months to two years. The education obtained at the associate's degree level is more comprehensive and prepares students to enter many professionals relating to engineering, structural design, and drafting.

Curriculums will vary but students take a wide variety of courses that focus on theory and practical experience. Inside certificate programs students train to understand how to use CAD software to develop technical sketches that illustrate two and three-dimensional models. The ability to spend more time on modifying designs is gained because the technology automates repetitive tasks that take longer when completing blueprints by hand. Many colleges have programs that focus on CAD in general and specific areas of design. Students can complete programs in areas such as mechanical, structural, piping, or landscaping design. These programs are best for students that have particular careers in mind.

Hands-on training is a key character inside programs at the associate's level of training. Students work through courses that develop their mechanical and architectural drafting skills. Problem-solving methods are learned in training because high levels of modifications are necessary when working out the kinks in a design plan. Students can expect to take numerous courses focused on drafting and design concepts in both levels of training. Courses can include:

  • Electronic Drafting
  • Building Design
  • Residential Construction

Students are able to take their own skills and enter careers as mechanical drafters, structural designers, and engineering aides. Career advancement can be gained by furthering education within bachelor's degree programs.

Pros and Cons of Playing Select Soccer (U – 15 Through U – 18)

High school soccer is played at different times throughout the United States. In some states it’s played in the fall alongside (pigskin) football, in some it’s a spring sport, and in Florida it’s a mid-winter diversion.

Choosing to continue to play select soccer at U-15, which typically coincides with the freshman year, is a big decision. Let’s look at some of the issues that may come into play.

PROS: Playing Select Soccer (U-15 through U-18)

  • Maintain strength and conditioning required to play high school soccer.
  • Game is faster and more physical as players reach adult sizes.
  • Will be more likely to make (and start) on high school team.
  • Consistent physical outlet for academic and social stress.
  • Healthy, constructive way to occupy free time.
  • Deepening friendships and bonding with teammates.
  • Friendly rivalry with teammates from other high schools.
  • Looks good on applications (National Honor Society, colleges, jobs).
  • More travel – sometimes without parents!
  • Tournaments are attended by college recruiters/coaches.

CONS: Playing Select Soccer (U-15 through U-18)

  • Depending on area of country, may overlap high school soccer.
  • Money–or lack of–since schedules limit job opportunities.
  • Increased study and homework demands may be hard to juggle.
  • Very difficult to run cross-country or track in high school off-season.
  • Not practical to be in school band, orchestra, chorus or drama.
  • Growing social life in high school dampened by soccer weekend schedules.
  • Focus on being seen by colleges increases pressure to win.
  • If not interested in pursuing college soccer, may have different goals than teammates.
  • Travel to big-name tournaments to be seen is expensive.

CONCLUSION: When a player chooses to continue select soccer as a high school student, especially at a high level, s/he has basically staked a claim to their primary activity (and identity!) for four years. It’s important for a student to understand what tradeoffs there may be in choosing soccer as their “thing”.

It’s also good (though not easy) for a player to evaluate where they are soccer-wise, to be sure they can be happy there.

  • If the team is at a lower Classic level, and the player is a star and has ideas of playing collegiately, a change in clubs may be called for.
  • If the team is high-ranked and most players wish to play in college, and your player does not want to, you need to consider whether you want to spend the time and money to be “shopped” around the country.

How Long Can Ordered Pizza Sit Out?

As every college student knows, pizza never goes bad. After all, you can leave it sitting out all night, eat a slice for breakfast, and head to class, right? Well, the good news is that most of today’s college students either have incredibly strong immune systems or are incredibly lucky, because this is not true. Pizza take out has limits as to how long it can set out and still be decent to eat. The meat, cheese, and sauce on a pizza can all grow dangerous bacteria if left at room temperature too long. Here are some guidelines to use with ordered pizza when storing it for a later meal.

Remember, Pizza Is Perishable!

Some foods are considered non-perishable, but pizza is not one of them. If you leave it out too long and then eat it, you can get sick. Pizza has meat and cheese on it, and these can harbor dangerous bacteria, including Staphylococcus, Salmonella, and E. Coli.

Most pizzas contain trace amounts of these bacteria, but these low amounts are not dangerous. As long as the pizza is kept either hot or cold, it is fine to eat. However, when it is left a room temperature for too long, the bacteria begin to grow, soon reaching dangerous levels that can cause severe illness. The dangerous temperatures are 40 to 140 degrees Fahrenheit, which is the range that normal room temperature falls in, so leaving the pizza out makes it dangerous, if not deadly.

Understanding the Two-Hour Rule

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), any food, whether hot or cold, that has been left at room temperature for two hours or longer needs to be thrown out. If the temperature is above 90, such as at an outdoor picnic on a hot day, the food needs to be thrown out after just one hour. The best temperature for hot foods is any temperature that is over 140 degrees. Cold foods need to be kept at a temperature of 40 degrees or less. Although this recommendation is fro the USDA, it just as well applies to Toronto pizza as it does to New York.

Keep in mind that your pizza may not arrive at the right temperature. If you transported the pizza yourself or the delivery driver had a long route to take, the temperature could have dropped below 140 degrees before you even started eating it. Use a food thermometer to determine the temperature of the pizza. If it is below 140 degrees, do not leave it out for the two-hour maximum. It has already cooled below the ideal temperature, allowing the harmful bacteria to grow.

Storage Tips for Pizza

If you know that you will need to have the pizza available for longer than two hours, use your oven to keep it above 140 degrees. Put the oven’s temperature setting on “keep warm” or a similar choice, and leave the pizza in its cardboard box in the oven. The pizza box will not burn at …
