Alabama vs. Georgia score: Live game updates, college football scores, NCAA highlights, full coverage

One of the most-anticipated college football games of the season lived up to its billing in the first half as No. 3 Georgia holds a 24-20 lead over No. 2 Alabama going into the break. With SEC and national title implications at stake for two teams loaded with five-star talent, a pair of three-star quarterbacks settled in to lead a series of scoring drives in the second quarter. Both Alabama’s Mac Jones and Georgia’s Stetson Bennett tossed touchdown passes as the offenses traded scores heading into halftime.

As if the normal buildup to a game of this magnitude was not enough, this one also featured uncertainty over whether Alabama coach Nick Saban would be on the sideline after he tested positive for COVID-19 earlier this week. Saban received three subsequent negative tests and was allowed to coach as he seeks to extend his record against former assistants to 22-0. Saban appeared to be his normal self in the first half as he chided the officials and lamented an encroachment penalty that helped extend Georgia’s final scoring drive of the half.
