We sure hear a lot of people say that it is just impossible for them to get a job right now with the economy the way it is, and the unemployment rates so high. But is that really true? Is it really impossible to get that dream job right now? I have a little bit of career advice for you and although it may run counter to many of the things that you read on the Internet, I'd like you to consider this for a moment.
I'd like to recommend to you the concept of becoming a "potential expert" in your industry. Instead of thinking that things are impossible; start thinking that things are possible, start leading by example and showing people that nothing is impossible, and that there are all sorts of possibilities awaiting for those that want to be pioneers in their industry.
The other day someone asked to join our think tank, then she handed me her business card. Although later in the conversation they are admitted to being unemployed, below their name on the business card it said "possibility expert" but; "what is that I thought?"
This lead to a conversation and then into an intellectual discourse on innovation, invention, and ideas; where they came from, what types of people had the creative genius to make it happen, had the imagination and creativity to persevere past the naysayers.
Interestingly enough, by the end of the conversation I realized they really were a possibility expert and they did make me imagine the future, as a positive place not only in their industry, but in every industry and even for the future of America itself. So please consider this care advice and think of yourself as a possibility-expert in your field. …
