You must be if you are already to studying hard or are sooner to slacking. Self awareness is important in this decision. Do not try and fool yourself. There are other things to consider in deciding if a course you are considering would be difficult.

You may choose something that seems above you like law or the medicine if you feel a great desire to succeed at these more challenging subjects.

Lessons We Learn From History

History is one subject in the galaxy of subjects that teachers its readers not only the subject, but also a lot of wisdom. Most people hold the view that history is just a list of events that have occurred and put only in a chronological order. True history is a chronological list of events. But, if we study it only as that we are missing on it and we are not giving the subject its correct status.

This subject has such a large perspective of things that, no other subject that is studied ever can be without its history. Science has a history, technological development has a history, religion has a history. No subject of any significance is without a history, then how can we say that history is trash. If man had not discovered that fire could be produced by rubbing two stones, how would the theory of creating fire come into being? If the ancient man would not have produced the wheel, how could we know to the present uses of the wheel? If the Hindu religion did not have the division of castes, how would the present situation f castes come into being? So we can say that the very essence of man's progress is based on history and its study.

The evolution of man itself is based on history, its progress and most of its scientific and technological developments are all the results of man's history, of the history of evolution had not been bound into history books, and if we had not read these books, how we would know about our past, and how we would maintain the tempo of development and progress. Man learnt from his mistakes, his experiences, the shortcomings of his ancestors, and continued to progress. Is this not a contribution of history? Does this not make the study of history important for us? The one single subject that had contributed so immensely to the constant and continuous growth of civilization is the history.

Another plea for not studying this drab subject is when people say history is just what passed away people have done. In this regard we must remember that we are not only studying what they did but in the process, we are trying to understand what mistakes have they committed, and why? It has often been said that, history repeats itself. This means that if we repeat the same mistakes we will reach the same opponents. Is this very little an advantage of study of the subject that, as people, as a community, as a country, we realize the mistakes of our ancestors, and we do not commit the same mistakes and get the same results? So, here comes the wisdom conveyed by this lone subject. It is only after the study of history that we can assess the mistakes of the precedent generations. It is from history the Britishers have learned the imperialism can not continue for ever. It is from history that Indians have learned that …

Prices on most of the things we need on a regular basis continue to rise uncontrollably. Without something to counterbalance this problem it becomes increasingly difficult for everyone from all walks of life. One such group, the college student has felt this even more then some. Between the climbing cost for classes and the lack of available funding. For the first time college student, the money that was saved for this opportunity will not go as far. This is when you need to take a moment and look at one of the best opportunities any future college has … college scholarship and grant programs.

When you start researching scholarships and grant programs you need to make sure you are as well prepared for everything they will be asking for. This can be anything from high school transcripts, financial and tax papers, current proof of employment and how much you make are just a few things you may be required to provide. I am sure you agree, but personally is not a little paper work worth it to get even $ 500 to help pay for your education?

Should I Get Help From A Career Counselor?

Most people would probably get a root canal than hunt for a new job. Whether a person has been downsized, is changing careers, or just wants to find a better opportunity, hunting for a job can be frustrating and intimidating. And since more than 230,000 people have lost their jobs this year, the competition for employment is likely to be fierce. People who want to increase their odds for getting hired may want to consider finding a career counselor.

What Career Counselors Do

Career counselors can help people evaluate their skills and abilities to find a job that fits their goals and interests. They serve as coaches, teachers, and mentors to people with all different types of job experience. A qualified counselor should be able to assess a client's behaviors and abilities to help direct them to an appropriate position. They also should be good listeners who can communicate well with people who may be dealing with a lot of stress and uncertainty about their job situation – and life in general.

Some career counselors may have a degree in counseling or a related field, but others may have experience in a particular field that gives them the expertise to help others. A master career counselor generally has the highest level of expertise in career counseling and has met other qualifications, such as being licensed by a state board.

Who Should Consider Counseling?

Not everyone looking to change jobs needs to see a career counselor. But people who are not sure where they're headed in their careers and need help focusing may benefit from working with a coach. Workers who are thinking about getting help with their career should ask themselves:

1. Am I satisfied with my current job?

2. What do I like or dislike about my current job?

3. How can I improve my current job?

4. Do I have the work-life balance I want?

5. What are my short- and long-term goals for my career?

6. What other jobs can I qualify for with my skills?

Downsized in America

People who have not had to look for a job in many years may be ill-equipped for their search and may be perfect candidates for career counseling. Companies all across America are cutting jobs, forcing many workers to dust off outdated resumes. A qualified counselor can help put together a resume, practice interviewing techniques, administrator assessment tests, or evaluate new career paths. The right coach can help a person evaluate jobs that they've never considered that may allow them to use their current skills.

Changing Careers

For people who are looking for a whole new career, a counselor can help them decide whether they have the necessary skills or need to continue their education. Some people may find that the type of work they've been doing has become obsolescent. Many unskilled workers have found themselves forced out of jobs that can be done by a computer or a machine. A good career counselor should listen to workers' needs …

Blame – The Very Fast Way to Destroy Your Career When You Have Been Laid Off

I have been in the recruiting software and HR technology industry for about 14 years and have seen some of the best and worst in most any company and any company's personnel. I myself have been in a few very bad situations with my job on the line and have handled things both very well and very badly, which is what this article is about. I guess it was about 8 years ago now that I almost ended my career with what we will call blame-a-nitus. I was a senior manager within a top Recruiting Software vendor and I had grown very resentful because several of the team that had begun with the company around the same time I had, were being promoted and I was not. In my frustration, I was very vocal and an all around angry person to be around. After all, I was putting in more hours than anyone else, I was on call 24/7, and I was the go to guy for almost anything when it came to getting the job done and turned around on a dime. I thrived on the challenge and knew the company could not afford to lose me. Here in lies the problem and illusion that I think many top people in companies live under. I thought I was irreplaceable and that the angrier I got and the harder I pushed; the company would eventually give in. Boy was I wrong.

In comes Poker time – the big bet.

I guess for about a year, I had become increasingly bitter and it all came to a line in the sand one day when I did not get up in the middle of the night and handle a support call. I had actually thought it was handled and had gone back to bed but none the less the next morning came and there were still problems. I was called into the CTO's office and was asked why I did not help out, I explained I had thought it was handled and then the CTO hit just the right button. I like many of you was and am prideful and put a lot of sweat equity into my work. The CTO told me that the team thought I had let them down and abandoned them when they needed me. Upon hearing that, I walked out of the room, walked for a while, walked back in and told him I did not want the role anymore and that I wanted to take a different role on the sales team the VP of Sales had offered. I told him the money was not worth the stress and the role was not going anywhere. I basically put him to a decision and backed him into a corner. He had two choices in my eyes, make me happy or I am out of here.

Here Comes the Moral of This Story

I did not get any response from him immediately and it was not until about …

Apps Are Playing a Major Role in Autism Education

Children who have developmental disorders, like autism, usually find it troublesome to recognize emotions and social cues. Autism apps like "Make Sentences" and "All Sorts!" can be of a major help to such children. These apps are programmed with voice and interactive response software and help autistic children to construct sentences and differentiate one object from another. Experts and researchers believe that these apps could be of incentive help to autistic kids because they help focus on a single aspect of communication at a time, and then react according to the situation. The "Make Sentences" and "All Sorts!" autism education apps never overwhelm the child with multiple forms of communication. Introducing autism education apps at the right age will help the child become independent at the right time.

Both the "Make Sentences" and "All Sorts!" autism apps can be personalized. The can be changed according to the individual needs of the child. The educational apps help autistic children follow directions and bolster communication by instilling confidence.

The inclusion of technology in special education methods is already underway. Progress, however, is being carried out in steps and not in leaps. There's still a lot of advancement needed to be made. Technology in autism education, like the apps, can help students build confidence and attain academic and extra-curricular success. For students with special needs, it's critical to usher in an emotional and social learning function into the mix. For instance, while using a technological learning device connected to an app, a teacher will be in a much better position to customize the learning plan which includes social, intellectual, and emotional learning. A child may face trouble to complete the daily tasks all by himself / herself. The autism apps will provide options for the answer to a question. The child can then match the nearest option and finish the task.

The "Make Sentences" and "All Sorts!" autism apps rely on teaching a child through games. The learning sessions are completely interactive. They are loaded with colorful icons and voice commands. A voice warns when a child selects a wrong option. Similarly, when a right option is chosen, the child is awarded with badges that help him / her go to the next level. The main aim of these apps is to make education fun. These simple gaming activities help autistic children further their education.

Both the "Make Sentences" and "All Sorts!" autism apps are frequently updated so that the special needs children can tackle fresh challenges. …

US Government Grants in Education

When referring to US Government grants in education, what is meant, are the grants awarded by the United States of America government to the Education Department. Today, the Department of Education is one of the most funded departments in the United States. This is because of the increasing need for teachers in schools today. Many parents have suddenly realized the importance of education, and are, therefore, taking their children to school. The schools are, therefore, over crowded with students, but have very few teachers to match the student numbers. The government has, therefore, put pressure on the Department of Education to recruit more teachers.

This, however, has not proved to be easy, because of the high costs of education. Many students can not afford to join the teaching profession, because of the high tuition fees and the many school requirements. To help out such students, the government through its Department of Education has started to award, college grants to education students. College grants are free aid, which is given to students who can not afford to pay for their education. In addition, since the teaching profession requires students to have some level of academic excellence, grants are also awarded on merit.

In the teaching profession, students are often required to have an internship period, in which they go out into the field and practice the learnt teaching skills. Many students, however, can not afford to travel to their allocated school locations. The government also awards grants to such students, and the grants cover all expenses involved. These expenses include transport, accommodation and feeding. It is, however, important to note that, grants which are awarded for school practice are only meant to cover school practice expenses. At the end of the day, therefore, the student will be expected to account for the grant money awarded to them.

Since the overall intention, of awarding US Government grants to education students, is to ensure that, more teachers get to graduate from colleges and universities; these students are expected to serve the government for some time after graduation. In other words, upon graduation, the recipients of education grants are expected to teach for a given period of time, in designated schools. Refusal to do so by the student will make the grant to become a loan. In other words, if the student does not fulfill this condition, he will be expected to refund the grant with the attached interest.

From the above, it is noted that, government grants to education students are to ensure that, the ratio of student to teacher attains some form of balance. …
