5 Ways to Earn Your College Education With Less College Student Credit Card Debt

If college students could have one wish it might be to receive a good college education without having to spend the next twenty years paying off massive student loans and college student credit card debt.

"Genie, grant me my wish." Poof. What college student credit card debt?

Dear Aladdin wannabe's, if only it was that easy! The truth is you can earn a great college education with less college student credit card debt. It takes a little money management savvy and an incrementally un-American concept called self-control.

"There are more money issues for today's students than in any other generation before them," says Todd Romer, executive director of Young Money Magazine.

From the rising cost of colleges to luxuries like cell phones and high-end dining establishments that are popping up all around college campuses, you may find yourself graduating into college student credit card debt hell by the time you're twenty-two years old. And all you really wanted was a debt-free college education!

If you're looking to stress less about money and be proactive about college student credit card debt, give the following tips a try:

1. Use credit cards sparingly.

The average credit card debt owed by college students is about $ 2,700, with close to a quarter of students owed more than $ 3,000. About 10 percent owed more than $ 7,000! That's not even including student loans.

"Getting a credit card is not a bad idea," says Romer. According to a recent study of student loan applicants conducted by Nellie Mae, a leading provider of higher education loans, 78 percent of all college students today have at least one credit card. That being said, Romer advises that college students keep your credit card in the deepest part of your wallet to use for emergencies and / or large purchases that you know you will pay back within thirty days.

Have a tendency to use credit cards as, say, gift cards? Romer suggests that college students call their credit card company and ask them to put a $ 500 max on the card. Also have them not change the limit until you are the one who communicates to them that you want to increase your credit limit. "Until you become more responsible, and that just evolves over time, have a third-party reign in on your spending," adds Romer.

But how can you earn a college education minus college student credit card debt when some colleges and universities form multi-million dollar partnerships with credit issuers and give them the go ahead to solicit students right on campus? "If you see a Bank One credit card table showing up at your school in the student union once a week, just realize that you do not have to participate in the promotion on campus," says Romer. "Treat it like anything else you're going to be temped with in this world.

2. Start a budget (ahem) weekly spending plan.

Yeah, a weekly spending plan is a sneaky euphemism for a budget, but …

Types of Education Majors

Some people are simply born to teach. These natural educators should pursue majors that fit their teaching style as well as their favorite subject. A person who loves music and wants to be a teacher should choose music education as their major, not architecture or pharmaceuticals. Being true to yourself and what you love will make you an effective educator. This article is for those of you who want to know more about the different types of education majors available to you in an online college.

Early Childhood Education

The early childhood education major is for people who want to teach young children the building blocks of everything they will learn in future years. If you are interested in providing a strong foundation for the youth of today, this major would be a great way to get involved. Learning how to teach children the most basic of skills can be a rewarding experience.

Secondary Education

Everything beyond elementary school is considered secondary education. You might choose this type of major because you prefer to teach more challenging subjects, or simply because you feel you get along better with older children. Keep in mind that students who are in middle school are going through many changes, and may not treat you with the kind of respect and awe you would likely receive from elementary aged children. This also tends to be a problem in high school, so if you think you are tough enough and can deal with the attitudes and disrespect that come with teaching secondary grades, then this is the major for you.

K-12 Major

If you are unable to decide which grade you would prefer to teach, get an overall K-12 education by choosing an all-encompassing major. This gives you the option of being certified to work in any grade, at just about any school. Having choices is very good in the current economy situation, as you would be able to accept just about any job offer in education.

Music Education

People who choose to be music education teachers are a very special breed. They must have a passion for music of all kinds, because they will have to take classes for every type of instrument and voice. They must also be willing to break down what they know into smaller bites for their students. This is true of all majors, really, but with music majors, they have the option of choosing music performance as their major as well. Those who decide on being music educators set aside their love of performing to teach students how to play an instrument or sing a song. The difference between performance and education is that, in the beginning, the students are not being taught how to be musical because they are not quite able to comprehend that in beginning band, choir, or orchestra. Only when they have performed for several years will they come to an understanding of what it means to play with musicality.

Other Education Majors

There are several …

Business Planning For College Students and First-Time Entrepreneurs

More and more students, both in undergraduate and graduate institutions, are deciding to launch their own ventures upon graduation rather than taking the traditional route of working for another firm. Likewise, more and more individuals are leaving their jobs to fulfill their entrepreneurial dreams.

While these ventures may ultimately be very successful (e.g., Google and Microsoft were both launched by students), they face certain challenges in their business plans and capital raising processes. The foremost challenge is overcoming the lack of experience of the management team. A classis chicken-and-egg problem presents itself – the management team has no past company successes to point to, and can’t prove itself unless given the opportunity to launch the business. While this problem is nearly always the case for graduating students, it also presents itself to many entrepreneurs, particularly those who are launching their first ventures.

To overcome this challenge, these ventures must represent themselves as having a great team by attracting a stellar management team and/or advisors. By attracting a quality management team, even if the team will not start until after financing, it gives investors that confidence that the plan will be properly executed. It also proves that the entrepreneurs have the ability to “sell” others on their vision. The management team need not be complete before seeking capital, since additional members will most likely be added after capital is raised. For instance, shortly after Google raised capital from Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Omid Kordestani left Netscape to accept a position as vice president of business development and sales, and Urs Hölzle was hired away from UC Santa Barbara as vice president of engineering.

Attracting high-quality advisors builds great credibility since if respected individuals are willing to risk their reputations by taking an advisory position, the venture must have some merit. Advisors can also help with the execution of the business and sometimes will also provide the needed capital. In Google’s case, when no major portal was interested in partnering with or funding the company, Larry Page and Sergey Brin were able to convince Andy Bechtolsheim, one of the founders of Sun Microsystems, to become an advisor and investor. Bechtolsheim contributed the initial $100,000 to the company.

Even if the venture is able to attract quality management teams and advisors, it will always be at a disadvantage versus other ventures headed by entrepreneurs who have “been there, done that” successfully in the past. To compensate for this, these ventures must really know their customers, know their market and know their competition. By possessing an in depth knowledge of the external factors that will effect the company’s success, the entrepreneurs can both create a solid business strategy and convince investors that an opportunity really exists. If the opportunity truly exists, then investors know that even if the venture is initially mismanaged, then they can hire additional managers later to put it back on course.

In summary, when students or first time entrepreneurs, begin developing their business strategies and plans, …

Classification of Computers

Computers are available in different shapes, sizes and weights, due to these different shapes and sizes they perform different sorts of jobs from one another.

They can also be classified in different ways. All the computers are designed by the qualified computer architectures that design these machines as their requirements.

A computer that is used in a home differs in size and shape from the computer being used in a hospital. Computers act as a server in large buildings, while the computer also differs in size and shape performing its job as a weather forecaster.

A student carrying a laptop with him to his college is different in shape and size from all the computers mentioned above.

Here we are going to introduce different classifications of computers one by one. We will discuss what are in classifications and what job they perform.

Super computer

The biggest in size, the most expensive in price than any other is classified and known as super computer. It can process trillions of instructions in seconds. This computer is not used as a PC in a home neither by a student in a college.

Governments specially use this type of computer for their different calculations and heavy jobs. Different industries also use this huge computer for designing their products.

In most of the Hollywood’s movies it is used for animation purposes. This kind of computer is also helpful for forecasting weather reports worldwide.

Mainframes

Another giant in computers after the super computer is Mainframe, which can also process millions of instruction per second and capable of accessing billions of data.

This computer is commonly used in big hospitals, air line reservations companies, and many other huge companies prefer mainframe because of its capability of retrieving data on a huge basis.

This is normally to expensive and out of reach from a salary-based person who wants a computer for his home.

This kind of computer can cost up to thousands of dollars.

Minicomputer

This computer is next in he line but less offers less than mainframe in work and performance. These are the computers, which are mostly preferred by the small type of business personals, colleges, etc.

Personal computers

Almost all the computer users are familiar with the personal computers. They normally know what the personal computer is and what are its functions.

This is the computer mostly preferred by the home users. These computers are lesser in cost than the computers given above and also, small in size; they are also called PCs in short for Personal computers.

This computer is small in size and you can easily arrange it to fit in your single bedroom with its all accommodation. Today this is thought to be the most popular computer in all.

Notebook computers

Having a small size and low weight the notebook is easy to carry to anywhere. A student can take it with him/her to his/her school in his/her bag with his/her book.

This is easy to carry around and preferred by students …

An Honest, Critical Review of the Dani Johnson Scam

Who is Dani Johnson?

Dani Johnson began her career in the Network Marketing industry as a broke, homeless cocktail waitress with $2.03 to her name. Within her first several hours of starting her new business, she had made several thousand dollars of profit. She made more than $250,000 her first year, and more than $1,000,000 her second year, becoming the #1 international producer in her company.

Since that time, she has founded Call To Freedom International, and travels around the world teaching whoever will listen (or, whoever can afford to listen, as we shall see) her principles of success.

Can She Help Me Succeed?

That depends. You’ve probably visited Dani’s site and seen the impressive array of testimonials from people of all walks of life. Her website boasts well more than 10,000 unique testimonials from people of all over the world. Pretty impressive, to say the least.

My personal experience with Dani Johnson is not that inspiring.

I first ran into Dani’s teaching when I was living in Fairbanks, Alaska. At the time, I was for the first time in my life making a significant income from my company, around $4,000 a month only working about 2 hours a day. My organization was growing by 30-40% a month and I was really enjoying the process.

I came across Dani’s teachings and really believed it would take me to the next level of success, and help my team to experience the success they had been looking for. I bought every single training on her website (quite the pretty penny, but worth the investment, or so I thought)…

I gathered my whole team together and we had a huge house jam-packed full of people listening to ‘Prospect and Close Your Way To Millions’. ALL of them got fired up. (Dani can be pretty darned convincing). I personally invested 3-4 hours a day listening to Dani’s training, thinking I had finally found the ‘Golden Key’.

So What Were The Results?

My income immediately dropped by $1000, that very month, and recruiting almost completely stopped. The funny thing was, nothing in the company had changed and we were more excited than ever. So what did we do?

Instead of dropping Dani Johnson like a bad habit (like we should have), we heard Dani say that we needed to go to a seminar, so a bunch of us flew down from Alaska to L.A. and attended her well known ‘First Steps to Success.’ I personally spent more than $1500 between airfare, lodging, and the outrageously priced tickets, and between my group I think the price we paid was around $15,000.

That month, my income dropped by another $1000. Convinced that I needed to invest in my skills, I went to Dani’s ‘Creating a Dynasty’ and bought her ‘Prospecting and Closing’ classes, spending well over $2500 two months later.

What happened? My income went from $2000 to less than $1000, and from then went down to around $400 before I did what I should have done, …

Motivation is the Key in Learning How to Study For College Exams

Why are some people more successful than others? Why do some students rise to the occasion when others seemly can not? Finally why do some students know how to study for college exams better than others do? This article will explain the basic foundation you need to be successful and attempt to answer these questions.

The answer to the above questions can be summed up to motivation. People who are more successful generally are more motivated than others. Students who do better on average are more motivated than students who struggle. Keep in mind this is not a blank statement but apply to a majority of the cases.

Motivation works best when combined with direction and goal setting. I used to be a person that was perceived to not have any motivation in fact I was quite lazy. However, that all changed one day after bombing a test that had me contemplating my very college existence. I came to the conclusion that I had to get focused and make something of my life. The first step is to find out what I wanted in life and then I created short-term and long-term goals to keep me focused and on the path to success.

After completing those steps I found that I was more focused and it was easier to get motivated and soon my grades began to rise. I also started to develop better study skills and study speed. This allowed me to have continued success and it all started with motivation. Motivation kept me in school, pushed me to develop better study skills and pushed me through school in 3 and half years.

This article was written for anyone who feels that they are spinning their wheels just as I felt. In order to break that viscous cycle you have to find what it is you want in life and then let your motivation and desire to achieve carry you. There will be many challenges in changing your way of thinking and it will never get any better unless you try. …

Learning Mandarin For A Career in China

There are many places in the world well worth visiting and a great deal of languages well worth learning. Few languages, however, offer the same bright professional prospects as proficiency in the lingua franca of the Middle Kingdom. China is happening and with it, so are Mandarin language studies. Today almost everyone knows that China is different type of country now compared to what it was even 10 years ago. Most people are not too familiar with the details about how that rise came about, with the start of market reform, to the opening of the first stock exchange, the entry into the world trade organization and the reform regarding the flow of capital from and to China. What people do know is that China is a rising power. We speak about an awakened dragon. China is country that accounts for one sixth of the world’s population. China is the world leader in not only exports, but today also in high tech exports. When the giant dragon sneezes, like giant Gulliver, the surrounding nations take notice.

Most westerners can tell you a few stories of how one large company after another moved production to The Middle Kingdom. Already today, but more so in the future, other similar trends will emerge. When western economies foundered in the wake of the global banking crisis China grew at an annualised rate of almost 10%. A growth prospect that no western nation has seen for centuries. In all these ways China is less a country and more a continent in its own right, and a hungry continent at that. With average wages a fraction of American salaries the dragon has an immense potential to still continue to grow far into the future.

The future will see a different world from the one we see today. But what does business say about China and Chinese language studies? This is an interview with a leading human resources consultant with 20 years experience within the Nordic investment banking industry in leading management positions in New York, London and the Nordic region. We asked Mats the question: why should people study mandarin? This is what he told us.

The first reason is naturally the growing importance of China as a super power and its emergence as a major player in world trade. To set this into a perspective the value of European trade with China has grown nearly 500% during the last 10 years and since 1996, when China surpassed the US, China has become EUs most important trading partner.

From the first point it follows that western societies will face growing interaction with Chinese people. In this respect it is important to bear in mind that although trade is international, business is local. Therefore the ability to communicate in the Chinese local language, understand the culture, know general etiquette and business conduct – in essence to understand the Chinese mind – will become paramount in the future. Today in Europe there are about 250 million people speaking …
