What Causes Premonitions? Premonition Visions Explored

What causes Premonitions? Premonition visions are attributed to the residence of supernatural or paranormal capabilities and are thought to be just another fragment of the psychic abilities that everybody has, but not everybody may be in tune to applying. Premonitions are often reported as an profound feeling of apprehension or fear, are misunderstood, and are decided upon their effects rather than the practice, and consequently more often than not, are perceived as fortune telling. In spite of the fact that these premonitions are not ordinarily in radiant clarity, they are often emotionally commanding enough for us to act upon them.

The most common method to receive premonition visions is by way of your dreams. Our dreams provides us with awareness and understanding in spite of the fact our conscious mind does not. These sometimes uncomforatble experiences are frequent vehicles of premonitions, either direct or symbolic, as well as in real dreams. In addition, it is conceivable that feelings, whether they remain imprecise forebodings or are implanted in dreams, must at times be subconscious inferences taken from an actual, if not hidden, awareness of existing, known details.

Premonitions taking place in a waking state are more dominant that those that happen in dreams since in the latter they are frequently concealed as symbols, and tend to go unobserved. Advance feelings can give prompt intuitive alerts that take place frequently but are too delicate to impact on the conscious memory. The characteristics can be as subtle as a nagging feeling or can be so overpowering that they shock you out of your day to day routine and stop you from thinking of anything else. They may come about the very next day the vision happened, and some may not occur for years later. Premonition visions may range from uncertain feelings of anxiety, suggestive of a forthcoming tragedy, to real hallucinations, optical or auditory sensations. They can be distinguished from precognition, given premonitions are more senses based, being affected by symptoms of psychical uneasiness, despondency, or anxiety that has no rational explanation, while precognitions are more founded upon knowledge of the future. The true operation of premonitions is not precisely known, that is, why some persons acquire them while other people do not.

Psychic Theorists conceive Precognition has the prerogative to release powerful psychokinetic energies, which in turn can materialise into future events, with all the occurrences happening the way they were visualized. Some people appear to be more receptive to these sorts of feelings and are called ‘sensitive’s’ or ‘psychics’. Precognitive understanding can be obtained by psychics utilising trance, channeling, prophecy and mediumship. This may be because the person undergoing precognition will go into a state of shock, or indeed because they are not used to the new apparent psychic power they hold.

With the progression of the scientific age individuals have begun to rely less on their perceptions and it is only in recent years that science is exploring the significance of human intuition and sensation to fully understand what causes …

The Importance Of Classroom Rules

‘Experienced teachers don’t deal with problems, they prevent them from occurring’ – so begins Geoff Petty’s section on classroom organisation in his book ‘Teaching Today – A Practical Guide” (Stanley Thornes (Publishers) Ltd, 1998). Ground rules are fundamental to order in the classroom, and order in the classroom is essential if effective teaching and learning are to take place. Here we will consider how to prevent problems from occurring through the establishment of appropriate classroom rules.

You can simply tell the learners what the rules are – you have complete control in this case, they are YOUR rules and it is your responsibility to enforce them. By letting them decide the rules learners have a greater commitment to keeping them. This latter approach sounds good, but it’s likely that the rules won’t meet your perceived needs: words like ‘silent’ and ‘respect’ and ‘on-time’ might be missing!

Better that Rules are agreed between teacher and learners, and best that they are established ‘up front’. The age, maturity, size and purpose of the group is important in this regard: ‘no mobile phones’ might be less apposite in a class room of six year olds, than it is in an FE (Further Education, 16+) students, for example.

Rules should be simple (I recently attended a session where rules were no more than four words each, and there were only six of them), thus easy to remember; they should be written up in big letters on a classroom poster, and thus always to mind; and they should be written down as the class discuss what they understand by each, and are thus ’embedded’ in each brain as they are accepted by the group.

Ground rules are all there to ensure appropriate behaviour and mutual respect. Key clauses concern not talking over others, listening to the teacher, arriving on time, and turning off phones – the agreed list should be the basis for order in the classroom.

Not talking over others is about respect for other people, its about allowing voices to be heard and enabling teaching and learning to take place effectively. Unfortunately ten minutes listening to Parliament in action or BBC Radio Four’s Today Programme might lead one to suspect that talking over one another is the way of things

Listening to the teacher is about respect for other people – allowing classmates to hear, developing a skill sadly lacking in much of society, listening and learning. Listening so that you understand another’s point of view, or the content of a teaching session. It’s about remembering that we have one mouth but two ears and using the two channels in proportion.

Arriving to a lesson on time is about respect for other people (you see the common thread in ground rules that’s unfolding here?). The teacher has a limited time to get a set amount of information across. It takes time to settle a group into a learning framework, and late comers disrupt that delicate dynamic.

Turning off phones is about respect for …

Newspaper Reading for Language Students

A Khmer student wrote to me on YouTube and asked me to produce videos about how to read English language newspapers.

“I’d like to ask you to make videos how to read newspaper and translate it from English to Khmer. I Khmer and I having a problem to understand English phrases.” Wrote the student.

Language learners often write telling me about some area of learning or area of their lives where they are experiencing difficulties of comprehension and ask me for a trick or a guide to help them learn.

As I have said in numerous other language learning articles, there are no tricks and no hints. The more hours you invest, the better you will get. And if your goal is to read at a native speaker level, then you need to read things a native speaker reads. If you are a 22 year-old university graduate, then you need to be reading at that level in the foreign language. And you won’t get there by reading textbooks ABOUT the language. You will get there by reading books, articles, and textbooks IN rather than ABOUT the language.

If we analyze this latest email, the student says he has trouble reading, and he specifically singled out newspapers.

Obviously, reading is reading. On some level, reading a newspaper is no different than reading a novel or reading a short story.

If you are reading novels and short stories, you should be able to read newspapers. If I asked this student, however, he is probably is not reading one novel per month in English. If he were, newspaper reading would just come.

Therefore, the problem is not the reading or the newspapers, per se. The problem is the lack of practice.

I never took a course called “Newspaper Reading” in English. I just started reading newspapers. And at first, I had to learn to deal with the language, structure and organization of newspaper writing, but no one taught me, or you. It just came to us. The same was true for German or Spanish newspapers which I can read almost as well as English. No one taught me, or taught Gunther or Pablo, it just came through practice.

A point, that I have made many times in articles, is that when you begin learning a foreign language, you are not an idiot. You are not starting with an empty brain. One reason it takes babies three years to learn their native tongue is because they are also learning what a language is and how language works. You know all of that, and much more. Babies don’t know that there is such a thing as grammar. Every single piece of vocabulary has to be learned. A seven year old may not know the words “population, economy, government, referendum, currency” in his native tongue. So, reading a foreign newspaper would be difficult for him, because reading a newspaper in his mother tongue is difficult for him.

If you are an adult, coming from a developed …

Having a college degree program from online has its own benefits. We can observe this benefit through the money we can save, flexibility of time, and also in physical location. Also having online colleges financial aid makes availing of online programs much compared to conventional schooling.

THE CONS:

Less instructor-student interaction – a downside to taking online degrees is that it deals less with instructor interaction. This is a disadvantage especially in matters where you have not fully understood the basics principles of some lessons or topics. Interaction with your instructor can help deepen your understanding about certain topics. However, this is offset by instructor interaction scheduled talks, online chats, regular e-mails, or social networks.

Tendency to Procrastinate if student is lacking self-discipline – the convenience of online education can have a drawback if the student is lacking in self-discipline since there are no physical school authority figures to follow-up your progress. The tendency then is to feel relaxed. However, if you are motivated enough to earn your degree in the fastest time possible and reap the benefits in the future, submission of assigned work and projects should be no question to you.
